Hollywood at War: How It Started

Years ago, when I was still in college, a developed a huge passion for the old Hollywood era. The movies, the stars, the scandals... The deeper I delved into that world, the more fascinated I became. So, one day, out of nowhere, I created a blog named Back to Golden Days to share my passion for this great era of cinema and maybe find other people who were just as crazy about it as I was.

As someone who had been completely fascinated about World War II since the 9th grade, I started thinking of a way to incorporate that into the blog. I started writing about some of the stars who served in the armed forces and actually saw combat, as well as some of the contributions to the war effort on the homefront, starting with an article about the Hollywood Canteen.

The other day, as I was writing a new article for that series, which I named «Hollywood at War,» I thought it would be interesting to expand it into a new blog. And that is how the «Hollywood at War» blog was born, as a way of combining three of my biggest interests — Old Hollywood, World War II and writing. My plan is to write more details articles about some of the actors who served in the war, and also explore things like the Hollywood Victory Committee and the First Motion Picture Unit.

If you have found this little blog in the depths of the Internet, hello, welcome, happy to see you here, and I hope you stick around.
